Blakesley Hall

Birmingham Museums and Art Gallery is the largest local authority museum service in England. There are over 750,000 objects in the collections, dating from 200,000 years ago to the present, and originating from each of the continents.

The service is responsible for seven sites.

Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (BM&AG) is home to one of the world?s finest collections of Pre-Raphaelite art, as well as extensive collections of fine and applied art, social history, archaeology and ethnography. BM&AG is housed in a Grade II* listed city centre landmark building.

Aston Hall is an outstanding example of Jacobean architecture. The mansion is Grade I listed.

Blakesley Hall was built in 1590 for Richard Smallbroke, local businessman and gentleman farmer. The timber framed Elizabethan house is Grade II* listed.

The Museum of the Jewellery Quarter shows the former workshops and offices of jewellery firm Smith and Pepper.

Sarehole Mill is one of only two surviving watermills in Birmingham. This Grade II* listed mill has important associations with Matthew Boulton and J.R.R. Tolkien.

Soho House, a Grade II* listed building, was the home of Birmingham industrialist and entrepreneur Matthew Boulton.

Weoley Castle dates from the 13th century.
